KALYANI: A 20-year-old Chakdah woman shot dead her boyfriend, a married man with four children from Jamshedpur, on Saturday.

The woman, police said, has confessed to the crime and claimed she wanted to end the extramarital relationship.

She reportedly did not reveal how she got the firearm or the bike which she rode to meet him.

Police said they suspect she was helped by at least one person.The Chakdah police said Parul Khatunwas arrested on Monday and produced in a local court.The court remanded her to six days in police custody.On Saturday, the police found an unidentified body of a youth with gunshot wounds on the road.

Police said the body was found in a pool of blood in Ganguly Para at Madanpur railway station.

The victim was taken to Chakdah hospital where he was declared brought dead.

Thereafter, police lodged a murder case.During investigation, police identified the deceased as Akhlaque Alam of Pahal More in Jamshedpur, Jharkhand.

His relatives were informed on Saturday and cops examined Alam's personal belongings, including his cellphone.

The probe led police to Parul, who lives with her father in Chakdah's Jatrapur.

Police said Alam had met Parul on Saturday evening and the duo was seen speaking near a local club close to Madanpur railway station.

Parul told cops she had arrived on a bike and shot Alam.

Chakdah police station IC Biman Mirdha said, "The accused knows how to drive a bike.

According to locals, she also used to take drugs.

A probe is on."Police said Alam had been in a relationship with Parul for the last four years.

Lately, she had wanted to end the relationship, but Alam did not and kept pestering her.

"We have reasons to believe that she had an associate.

She also did not specify where she got the firearm and the bike from," an officer said,
