12 lakh migrant workers to be sent in 2018: Minister

Last year, we sent more than 10 lakh workers to different countries beating all the previous records of the country,” he said. This year we are planning to send 12 lakh migrant workers.

Asked about the allegation of highest migration cost, Minister Nurul said, “We have not yet received any allegation in this regard. If we receive any allegation, we will take action against agencies who charge higher from the workers,” he said.

The country received a total of 13,526 million USD remittance this year, according to Bangladesh Bank, the minister said.
