The Economic Commission of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (IEA) on Tuesday granted approval for the construction of the second Kabul-Jalalabad road using toll gates to charge drivers.The commission, in its meeting chaired by Deputy Prime Minister Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar, directed the Ministry of Public Works to initiate an open bidding process for the second Kabul-Jalalabad road project, emphasizing the need to adhere to road construction standards, according to a statement released by Baradar&s office.Additionally, the ministry was instructed to apply the established Salang procedure to this project.Furthermore, the commission approved a plan for the construction of a tollgate in the eastern region of Kabul province.According to the plan, the private sector will invest through a ten-year public-private partnership.During the initial two years, 51 percent of the revenue will go to the state treasury, and from the third to the tenth year, 90 percent will be contributed.The post Economic Commission approves construction of second Kabul&Jalalabad road with toll gate first appeared on Ariana News.
