The General Secretary of the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP), Sagara Kariyawasam revealed today (Dec.

The SLPP’s victory will be absolute.” “We are in the process of considering four candidates.

Dhammika Perera is one of the candidates.

We will put forward our best candidate”, he added.Meanwhile, the Colombo District leader of the United National Party (UNP) Ravi Karunanayake expressed that although various candidates are clamouring to contest elections, the most important matter is that the country resurrects and moves forward.“Ranil Wickremesinghe will definitely continue to function as a non-aligned president”, Karunanayake added. In the meantime, Manusha Nanayakkara, the Minister of Labour and Foreign Employment today stated that Ranil Wickremesinghe’s presidency is not based on a single party, adding that all politicians have united to solve the country’s problems.“Personally, contesting as an independent presidential candidate rather than creating parties or alliances will help distinguish those who want to build the country from those who do not want to”, Minister Nanayakkara said.“Those who want to contribute to building the country will join hands with the president”, he added.
